One thing to do. Nothing to feel bad about.

Just Progress™, by LogBlues.

Most health apps hand you a schedule and let you fail against it. This one answers a few questions, then gives you a single small thing — small enough that you will actually do it. Once it has stuck, the next one opens.

What is in it

A step, the evidence behind it, and somewhere to go on a bad day.

Almost everyone who fails at getting healthier fails by starting at level four in January. So the path starts lower than you think it should, and will not let you skip ahead.

  • The evidence library. Open an entry to see the research behind it, the size of the effect, and the caveats. Where the evidence is weak, it says so.
  • A coach on the phone. Gemma 3 1B, running on the handset under Google’s Gemma Terms of Use. The optional model is an 0.8 GB download and needs a compatible phone with enough memory and storage. Once installed, it works in aeroplane mode. It has no name, and it tells you when it does not know.
  • Your numbers. Blood pressure, weight, resting heart rate, grip strength, HbA1c, ApoB, vitamin D and more, each with what the test costs. Test, don’t guess.
  • Sleep and calm. Six built-in sound beds and, once the model is downloaded, an on-device five-minute meditation written when you choose it.
  • Five flick sports games. They exist for the bad ten minutes. Most habit apps’ idea of a reward is a badge; this hands you thirty seconds of something with a skill in it and then gets out of the way.
  • Health Connect can fill in steps, distance, exercise, active calories, heart rate, resting heart rate, sleep and weight. Access is optional and read-only. No device pairing and no Just Progress account.

What it refuses to do

The list that made us build it.

Every one of these is verifiable in the binary, which in this category is rare enough to be the whole point.

No streak guilt

Miss a day and nothing resets. Completed steps and total progress remain, and the app welcomes you back without scolding.

No account, no cloud

You cannot sign in because there is nowhere to sign in to. Nothing syncs, because nothing leaves. Everything you enter is encrypted on the phone.

No calorie counting

No food logging, no macros, no weighing your lunch.

Nothing social

No friends, no leaderboards, no sharing, no carer view. One generic reminder a day at most, off by default, with no health goal or step on the lock screen — never a streak, never a missed day, never “we miss you”.

No interpreting your labs

It says “in range” or “above target”. It does not name a condition. Ask the coach for a drug dose and it intercepts rather than answers.

Nothing being sold to you

No supplements, no affiliate links, no “best” lab. No claims about living longer, reversing ageing, or preventing disease.

In private Android testing. Coming to Google Play.

The app is being tested on Android phones while the remaining device issues are worked through. There is no public download link yet and we are not going to invent a launch date. Android 8.0 and above, United States first, and free — including the optional on-device Coach.

Just Progress is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. It is for adults, and it is not for managing a condition. HIPAA does not apply to it. Profile answers, entries and optional Health Connect data stay in the app on the phone; LogBlues does not receive a clinical record from it.
