Compliance
Policies say what the clinic does. Procedures say how. Safety checks are the record that somebody actually did it, on the day they said they would.
Policies define what the clinic requires. Procedures are the steps for doing it. They sit together because an auditor reading one immediately asks for the other.
The scheduled proof: equipment serviced, an autoclave run logged, an AED checked. Each is a dated record with a name against it, and each one that falls due arrives as a task on somebody’s list rather than waiting to be remembered.
Equipment lives in Inventory with its service dates, so the thing being checked and the record of checking it are the same object.
It is not a certification, and it does not make a practice compliant on its own. It is the place the evidence lives so that when somebody asks, the answer is a record rather than a search through email.
